NSW Continued Professional Development

Course name Continued Professional Development
Course summary Renewal of a licence or certificate of registration under the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002 is conditional on licence and certificate holders undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year.

In late 2006, an independent evaluation of the CPD program operating in the NSW property services industry recommended change. This came into effect on 1 January 2008.

Multiple licence and certificate holders only need to complete 12 points of CPD activity a year, regardless of the number of licences held.

Course cost $88.00
Duration You can pace yourself - there is no rush as your course fee includes access to the “My Connect" portal for 12 months from the date of enrolment.

Some students finish in a few days while others choose to rush through due to time restraints.
Course outcome Upon successful completion, your Statement of Attainment will be sent to you within 30 days of the program completion - this is the evidence you will need to provide to your new employer to show you have met the educational requirements.
Units of competency The CPD activities are drawn from a wide selection approved under the CPD guidelines issued by the Director General.

From 1 January 2008, any CPD activity undertaken must be relevant to one of the 15 CPD topics. We currently offer the following topics;

  • Strata and community managers
  • Legislation and compliance
  • Property management
  • Sale Practices
  • Communication Skills
  • Sale of business
  • Commercial and industrial property practice
Please note if you have a particular topic for group bookings, we can design custom CPD training for your office.
Special requirements The Institute is willing to assist and support in all ways that they can. Please contact the Institute directly in relation to language, literacy or numeracy support.
Refund policy There is no refund for any online courses for any reason once payment has been made.
USI requirement You are not required to obtain a USI number if you are undertaking NSW CPD points. However, please note if you are also undertaking CPD in ACT, you will be required to obtain a USI as you study a complete unit of competency as part of your renewal obligations.
Cheating & plagiarism policy Connect Skills Institute reserves the right to cancel any student enrolment, without being obligated to provide a refund for an of the following reasons:

  • The student has been caught cheating
  • The student been caught copying or has identical answers to that of a previous or current student
  • The student cannot justify how they became to have their written/ typed answers
  • Undertaking assessments, agreements, arrangements which would constitute a student not independently completing their individual assessments
  • Asking for answers booklets
  • Offering a bribe, deal, offer, concept, benefit to any Connect Skills Institute employee, contractor, agents, third party providers to obtain “answers of any format”
